Thirty filmmakers and a whole lot of stuff arrived in the early morning hours at Seattle's historic Georgetown Steam Plant to begin filming the short sci-fi drama, "My First Time."
The next three days will have been some of the coldest on record for the year. The plant is not heated, nor are there restrooms. And of course, it will be sunny and dry for the next three days.
But the place is so cool (literally) ~ built in 1907 to provide power to Seattle's electric railway system, the plant features two giant multi-story tall steam turbine generators as well as two enormous pumps to get water to make the steam.
A football-field-long arcade of oil-fired boilers provided the necessary heat ~ could've used one or two over the weekend.
